Valerie is a true nomad at heart, having inhabited eight countries, six states, and countless cities before age thirty. Currently, she is rooted in the Mile High City of Denver, where she enjoys summiting mountains in the summer and carving fresh powder in the winter. 

Valerie first discovered her passion for writing after her third-grade teacher asked her to write a story about a real-life superhero that inspired her, and then had her story laminated and bound. She’s wanted to be an author ever since.

Valerie has written for everything from her hometown’s local newspaper to nationally recognized media outlets. Through her writing, she explores themes of becoming, belonging, and the beauty in being lost. She continues to write with the hope that her words help others feel less alone in their own search for meaning.
