Valerie is a true nomad at heart, having inhabited six countries, six states, and countless cities before age thirty. Currently, she is rooted in the mile-high city of Denver, where she enjoys summiting mountains in the summer and carving fresh powder in the winter. She lives with her best friend, boyfriend, and an adorable pooch named Luka, who never barks without permission.

Valerie first discovered her passion for writing after her third grade teacher asked her to write a story about a real-life superhero that inspired her, and then had her story laminated and bound together. She’s wanted to be an author ever since, and has written for everything from her hometown’s local newspaper to digital coming-of-age magazines. She is currently seeking representation for her travel memoir, Lost on Purpose, which is about losing home, finding it, and then losing it all over again.
